When I was a little girl my father died in a work accident, (see biography). My mother was given a type written copy of a wonderful experience of a man named Heber Q. Hale. He had a wonderful vision about the world beyond death. From those early years as I questioned where “daddy” was, my mother would read this account to my sisters and me. It was a wonderful comfort. The part of the article that was seared into my heart and understanding was the description of the plants and trees. It touched me in a way that is hard to describe. Almost like a memory from a previous home. A great desire began to grow within myself to learn as much as I could on the journey beyond death.

The reason I have started this blog is to share the things I have learned through the years on this subject. My own son’s tragic death in 2002 prompted intense study and a novel to be written that will be out in print in the upcoming months.
As I dealt with the death of my beautiful boy I found comfort in talking and sharing with others. I was always amazed how little the world understood of the world beyond. I love a beautiful quote from:
President Dwight D. Eisenhower: “There is no tragedy in life like the death of a child. Things never get back to the way they were.”
I have experienced one of life’s most painful experiences. My heart was broken, I have healed but I still bear the scars. It is a journey that teaches empathy for others and their experiences. When you have been at the very bottom, the only choice you have is to journey up.
My hope is for this blog to be a safe place for others to share. I will be posting on Wednesdays new information. I hope you join me in this adventure!
Please share your feelings and insights to Heber Q. Hale’s article.
It starts out beautiful and makes you want to read even more. Good Job.
I hope all is well with the family. I can’t wait for the book!!!
Thanks for posting that article by Heber Q Hale. I’ve already saved a copy for myself so I can reread it again. My dad passed away 12 years ago while I was on my mission. I’ve often wondered what kind of work he is doing now, because I have no doubt he is busy. He loved the gospel and loved teaching it. Reading this article gives me some insight on some of the things he might be doing at this time.
This has also really helped me put into better perspective my family’s and my life here on earth and what we should be focused on.
Thanks again for posting this, I’ve got a lot of things to ponder on now.
Wow, Kelly, thank you so much for posting this! Barry urged me to read your blog and, especially, the article written by Brother Hale. It was incredible.
